ADHD/Autism Survey

As an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania in 1998, I participated in a study to find a connection between ADHD and Fragile-X Autism, on the theory that the two conditions were caused by different amounts of damage to the same chromosome. Participants in the study were asked to complete an online survey, and their responses were tabulated and compared to the responses of others based on their self-described conditions. Our goal was to demonstrate that ADHD was simply a less-severe version of Fragile-X, but that the two were caused by the same genetic condition, and to develop a set of questions to be used as a diagnostic aid.

Unfortunately, the results were not conclusive, and I am no longer involved in this research. I am not familiar with any continuing research in this field.
